A product we are genuinely proud of: WUMS, the workshop and mobility service of Österreichische Post AG. An app and a portal with which one of the country's largest vehicle fleets is inspected, maintained and repaired every day. Built and operated by us, Körbler GmbH, on top of 1Tool.
What it is about
Thousands of yellow vehicles are on Austria's roads every day. Every one of them has to be roadworthy: tyres, lights, inspection sticker, bodywork. That used to mean paper, phone calls and e-mails between delivery base, fleet management and workshop. Today it means WUMS.
The app
With the WUMS app, Post employees inspect their vehicles right where they are parked. Photos of the vehicle, marked damage, tyres, inspection sticker — everything is recorded on the phone and lands in the system immediately. If something is broken, a few taps turn it into a workshop order, technical or bodywork. Vehicle handovers and base inspections run through the app as well. In the App Store and on Google Play since 2022, continuously developed.
The portal
The portal is the second half: this is where the delivery bases, the workshops and the freight carriers work. The workshop sees its orders, the base sees its vehicles and their inspections, fleet management sees the overview across all sites — which vehicles have been inspected, which are still open and what the last inspection found. Since September the portal speaks five languages: German, English, Slovenian, Croatian and Turkish, so that everyone works in the language they know best.
Why it works so well
WUMS is not off-the-shelf software but built on 1Tool — our platform for tickets, contacts and files that we have been running for many years. The vehicle check is a ticket, the photo is a file, the workshop is a contact. That let us concentrate on what the Post really needs: a workflow that works in the car park with a phone in hand. And every inspection is documented, with date, photos and result. In a fleet that is not just convenient, it is the basis for making sure no vehicle is on the road that should not be.
For us, WUMS is a prime example of what we like doing most: taking a task from real operations and building software out of it that gets used every single day. Thank you to the team at Post AG for their trust and the close cooperation.
